Buzz Jeans' Top 6 holiday outfits from TV and movies

Doing a quick Google search, you'll find countless lists of the top Christmas movies or TV specials. But what about the clothes?

You'd be hard pressed to find a list of the best holiday outfits ever to grace the screen, which is ridiculous considering how many great holiday outfits we found when we really set ourselves to the task.

So, by way of wishing you a happy festive season, Buzz Jeans is bringing you our list of the top 6 holiday outfits, courtesy of the entertainment industry.

6. Scarlett O'Hara's red & white Christmas dress

Less is more? Tell that to Gone with the Wind heroine and iconic Southern belle Scarlett O'Hara.

Naturally the period dictated that a woman wasn't a lady without a corset, a bustle, and several superfluous layers of undergarments.

But high-maintenance Scarlett goes the extra mile in a candy-cane inspired red and white dress with delicate piping and festive bow sash.

5. Doris Walker's classic professional wear from Miracle on 34th Street

With ladies now in the workforce, the post-war era ushered in a more streamlined, structured look for women in the last half of the 1940s.

Doris Walker, Maureen O'Hara's character in the holiday favorite Miracle on 34th Street was an icon of the working woman for the times: single mother, event planner, snappy dresser.

We love Doris' professional yet glamorous look for sophisticated but festive occasions.

4. Kylie Minogue's cigarette girl dress in the Dr. Who Christmas special

Set to appear in the hit BBC sci-fi show Dr. Who, Minogue rejected the first costume designed for her by Louise Page. The long dress that turned out to be dud was replaced by the more fun and flirty 1950s cigarette girl-style dress.

Part French maid, part festive, this dress is all party, and shows off one of Minogue's best features, her legs.

Grab a cocktail and celebrate this vintage look. No time-traveling abilities necessary.

3. Vera Ellen's burlesque gown in White Christmas

When you think Bing Crosby, you usually don't picture a saucy, bare-legged blonde gyrating as part of a minstrel show.

But that's exactly what  you get in the minstrel show scene of Bing Crosby's White Christmas.

The holiday season is usually cold, but in the case of Vera Ellen in this Christmas classic, it's red hot. Clad in a beaded white costume and red satin gloves, Santa probably gave Ellen everything she wanted for Christmas, and more.

2. Patsy and Eddie's holiday haute-couture in Absolutely Fabulous

What list that combines fashion and entertainment would be complete without at least some mention of Ab Fab's Patsy and Eddie?

This pair of alcoholic Brits don festive red for their holiday special, but that's about where their holiday cheer ends – unless by "holiday" you mean "self-absorbed" and by "cheer" you mean "superficiality."

5. Selina Kyle's Christmas masquerade gown in Batman Returns

Not only is the dress from Batman Returns' masquerade scene the all-time hottest holiday outfit, the scene itself is probably one of the best examples of on-screen chemistry in the past 30 years.

Dressed in a low-back sequined gown, Catwoman (A.K.A. Selina Kyle) meets Batman (A.K.A. Bruce Wayne) at a festive ball.

Almost every night that Selina and Bruce haven't met each other for a date, the unwitting pair have met each other in costume for a fight. After a few sultry remarks and a bit of a spat, they finally realize each-other's alter-ego.

Check out the chemistry and the dress here.
