Bleach bums: white denim is white hot

In case you hadn't heard, white denim is hotter than the hottest of hot tomales these days.

Don't believe us? Fine. But if you don't, we defy you to tell us that Megan Fox and Blake Lively aren't enviably gorgeous and that they both look terrible in the latest denim trend. 'Nuff said.

White jeans are a bit of a classic. 70s style icon Faye Dunaway looked posh in white denim back in the original Thomas Crown Affair.

It's a style that's basically always looked good, especially when you get just the right fit.

But white jeans are especially big right now – enough so to make a reappearance on  the runways yet again this season, as in Balmain's metallic-laden Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Citizens of Humanity's answer to this rare cross between classic and trendy comes in the form of two new white denim offerings.

A favorite silhouette for modern women's denim, Citizens of Humanity's Thompson is a skinny leg white jean with a medium rise, that most flattering of heights – not unlike the style Blake Lively's modeling in the above shot from Glamour Magazine.

But if you're looking for the "wealthy young woman on the riviera" look, à la Faye Dunaway, a straight leg white jean, like Citizens of Humanity's Elson mid-rise jean will give you a more relaxed vacationer's vibe.

I'm opting for the latter this summer, as I'm going for the upscale look of a classic white linen trouser without all the hassle of ironing.  A cute, striped top and I'm good to go in a yacht-inspired style that even the laziest person (i.e. me) can maintain.
